Barbra Streisand Fill in the Blanks: ''The Way We Were''

The biggest song of '74. What were the lyrics?

Before the Barbie soundtrack dominated the Academy Awards. Before Prince had the number one movie and the number one album at the same time with Purple Rain. Before whatever Xanadu was... There was The Way We Were.

"Streisand & Redford... TOGETHER!" boasted the poster. The movie was a box-office success, but the soundtrack was an even bigger hit.

The title track was the biggest song of 1974. So let's see how well you can remember the lyrics! Fill in the blanks and share your memories about the way you were in '74 in the comments section below!

  1. "Memories ________ the corner of my mind."
  2. "_______ water-colored memories"
  3. "Scattered _________."
  4. "Of the _______ we left behind."
  5. "Smiles we _______ one another."
  6. "Can it be that it was all so ______ then?"
  7. "Or has time ________ every line?"
  8. "If we had the ________ to do it all again"
  9. "Tell me, _______? _______?"
  10. "What's too ________ to remember, we simply choose to forget"

10/10 as a sappy teenager I loved this song! But I am today years old learning that the words at the beginning are Memories light the corner of my mind… and NOT Memories LIKE the corner of my mind! 😳😆

Missed one. I learned it from Tom Hanks in “Big”. I don’t listen to Streisand

8 of 10, great song and today’s female divas can thank Barbara for being the Original Diva. Very pretty lady too. 😃

MeTV goofed on the 1st question--it is "corners" not "corner".

I think I have a dustbunny or two in the corners of my mind...

"You got 7 out of 10. Looks like the way you were was "astute."

Feh, I still prefer the Bonanza song -
"We gotta right to pick a little fight, Bonanza!
Whoever picks a fight with any one of us,
he has to fight with me!
All for one, one for all, this we guarantee..."
BTW, you can only see the boys singing it on YouTube! NBC edited it out!

Written by one of Hollywood's great songwriting teams--Jay Livingston and Ray Evans.

5 out of 10, it's the only song of hers I really liked and I thought I would do much better.
