Wonder Woman was a quick hit for ABC when it debuted in 1975, but the network still wasn't 100 percent sure whether they'd bring the show back for a second season.
To seal the deal for the studio, the series creators Douglas S. Cramer and Stanley Ralph Ross agreed to update the series from a period piece set in the 1940s to a modern show set in what was then the 1970s. Fans know that's why when Wonder Woman returned to television for season 2, it was rebranded as The New Adventures of Wonder Woman.
