Some of these teams folded. Others moved to a different city, with a new name. But, where does the fandom go? Are the cheers still there, hanging over the former sight of each field, each stadium?
We're testing your memory today. We'll name a team that no longer exists. You tell us what city they're from. Simple as.

8/10--missed #6 and #8.
I remember most of these teams...and at the beginning of the quiz, I was thinking of a scene in Jim Bouton's book Ball Four. There was an announcement about voting for "your favorite Seattle Pilot" (for game MVP, maybe?) and Jim reminded the people in the bleachers he was near that "your favorite Pilot didn't necessarily have to be be good."

8/10. I actually miss the Montreal Expos. For some reason, when the Cubs played there, we would have a really clear picture on WGN.
got them all BUT i think the baltimore bullets were actually the washington bullets. the team that the warriors beat in 1975. edit: turns out that bullets were in baltimore before they moved to washington.
8 for 10. Thank you for giving a little shout-out to my Thrashers. Still miss them.
I saw a Kings/Atlanta Flames game in the 70's before Flames moved to Calgary. Thrashers was strike two for the city of Atlanta. Now I hear they're a frontrunner for NHL expansion coming soon. Not sure Atlanta is a hockey town. Quebec should be the next city to get a club. I kind of miss the Nordiques, sort of. I'm a Kings/Ducks fan so my teams aren't going anywhere thank god.
Minor league hockey has worked here. The Knights were successful enough in the 1990s to get rhe NHL to give us the Thrashers, and the Gladiators are successful now. Just not sure we can support the NHL version...but then again, places like Tampa and Dallad make it work...
Minor league sports in general is just great value for your buck. We have two major league teams for every sport here in SoCal/ Orange County and we still have minor league hockey and baseball within a two hour drive from the area. I'm about a one and a half hour drive down to the Palm Springs area. They have the Coachella Valley Firebirds which are the minor league club for the Seattle Kraken ( one of the worst nicknames in sports by the way). Great, fairly new arena for hockey. This is their second season in the AHL. Can't wait for Utah and what they come up with as far as a nickname. Probably going to be just as clever as Lightning and Wild. Horrific nicknames. There must be something in the water there for the NHL to even consider going back to the ATL. Small markets can make it work. As far as Atlanta...we will see.
The Thrashers biggest problem was their ownership and (mis)management personnel. Hopefully that will be better if we get another shot at the NHL.
10 out of 10. Done in about twenty seconds. Next sports quiz please. Hard to believe that Kansas City had NHL hockey once upon a time. Teams like the Scouts, Barons and Golden Seals merged with other teams or moved to other cities. The Scouts became the Colorado Rockies and then moved to New Jersey and became the Devils. Go USA! We'll show our 51st state who has the best team!
Most people who are sports fans don't know or don't remember that for a brief time there was a Rockies hockey club before the baseball team. I think only the old-timers would know that. I was a kid then but I still remember the hockey team.
Well...I guess the 51st state had a better team. For some strange reason our good neighbors to the north are a little upset and decided to show us who really has the better team. I might be wrong but I think this horrific loss wouldn't of happened if that lady ( I forget her name) was in charge. I wish I could say don't mess with the U.S. but maybe it's don't mess with Canada.😎
Wasn't it the washington bullets
The franchise was originally in Baltimore and moved to D.C. Then they changed their name to the Wizards about twenty or so years ago because Bullets and thinking there's a gun attached to the nickname
apparently offended many. Why who knows? Bullets was a much better nickname. Political correctness really sucks.

You got 10 out of 10 - Way to go, sports fan! I knew I would do well as I am a big sports fan and the history of sports as well. Though I'll admit that I had to think twice about #6 but went with the alliteration of Baltimore Bullets. And with hockey being my favorite sport, I'm glad they included 5 now defunct hockey teams (#s 1,4,7,8,9). That certainly made the quiz much easier...at lesast for me. :)
