Of those, the only character whom I thought out-shined the main character was Fonzie. Even though it seemed like Fonzie WAS a main character, but I guess that just proves it.

Did you prefer Mel Cooley to Sally? No,most of those shows wouldnt havr made it w/o the supporting characters,but it was the star of the that made you switch on the t.v.
Other than Fonzie, I can't think of a sidekick who outshined the lead. Edith over Archie? Norton over Kramden? Urkel over Winslow? The Bear over BJ?
