10/10. Still have a number of his early albums on vinyl & love him with the Steep Canyon Rangers. If you want a laugh, check out their songs "Jubilation Day" and "Atheists Don't Have No Songs".

Steve Martin hands out a business card in lieu of an autograph -
"This certifies that you have had a personal encounter with me and you found me warm, polite,
intelligent and funny."
On the other hand he will chat with you after giving you the card.
I had a nice chat with Buffalo Bob Smith once, in the 1980's at the Lead East Car Show in Jersey.
At my request he (laughingly, he got a kick out of it) inducted me into The Peanut Gallery.

Didn't even bother taking the test. I would have failed royally.

Why?

Just look at my avatar. *That's* who I think is *really* funny, as well as *clean.* Add to that list (the late, great) Lucille Ball, (the late, great) Steve Allen (he was married to Audrey Meadows' sister, Jayne), and the (late, great) Little Rascals, among others.

The only current comics who *are* clean would be Carol Burnett, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Jimmy Fallon. When it's down to just 3 truly talented people like them, it says a lot about the public-at-large's taste in entertainment like this gentleman(?).

I'm also proud to say I *never* read any of his books, seen any of his movies, or heard any of his (obscene) "comedy" albums (which *never* carried any kind of advisory warning stickers on the cover, thus suckerpunching anybody who thought his "humor" would be clean).
