If you think reboots are popular now, you should have lived through the 1980s. Television networks were constantly reviving favorites from the 1960s and 1970s.
Westerns, sitcoms, action shows, medical dramas, spies… they all returned to the small screen it seemed. The trend continued into the early Nineties, which, let's be honest, were basically a continuation of the Eighties.

Hey! 13/13! The Man From U.N.C.L.E. reunion was great. Napoleon and Illya still look great.
Yes, the teleplay (premise) was suggested by a "superfan" of the original series. The actors (as reported) couldn't disappoint him (and others) by not doing the reunion!

In one of the Get Smart reunions, Max' kid gets kidnapped with Sigfried's kid. Sigfried's asks Max' what did his father tell him he did for a living. "He makes greeting cards. Yours?" "He said he was the doctor on a cruise ship."
I'm not sure, but that might have been the theatrical release "The Nude Bomb".
