How well do you know the Bing Crosby movie, White Christmas?

We're dreaming of a great quiz score....

Christmas just isn't Christmas until you hear Bing Crosby crooning over the radio. While ol' Bing has a truly staggering amount of Christmas songs that get aired every year, the one that tops them all is "White Christmas".

According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the song itself holds multiple world records, including the best-selling physical single of all time. The ditty was written by Irving Berlin for Crosby's earlier movie, Holiday Inn, but in 1954 it was used in another movie where it also served as the title: 1954's White Christmas, starring Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen.

In the decades following, it's become a holiday classic that gets aired every year around the holidays. How well do you remember the movie?

  1. What rank is Bing Crosby's character?
  2. What is the name of Wallace and Davis' hit musical?
  3. What line does Doris say when meeting Wallace - and again when meeting another man later?
  4. Why couldn't "Freckle Face" Haynes have written to Wallace and Davis?
  5. What city in Vermont is the resort in?
  6. How much does Wallace say the show will cost?
  7. What does Wallace say you'll dream about if you eat a liverwurst sandwich?
  8. How does Wallace get the message out to his division?
  9. Where does Betty take a job when she leaves Vermont?
  10. What gift does Betty give Bob?

Looks like you need to spend a cold night bundled up in front of the TV watching White Christmas!

I got Wallace's cost reaction wrong. Other than that, not bad! But then again, I view this film on DVD every year at Christmas time.

9/10 on this one and this is most likely my very favorite Christmas show. I sure miss Bing too and his Christmas shows yes, I Bob too. My God, people in this country are so starved for some real entertainment these days. Makes me cry for my grandchildren all the time. I mean shows like Crosby's and Hope's were real shows. Everything today is fake....or blood and guts....sorry....I'll get off the soap box now....

8/10. As a kid, thought movie was corny with terrible backgrounds. Grew up, realized it was an excellent musical with beautiful backdrops on a sound stage.

7 of 10, good old WGN Ch 9 on 10:30 pm, the nights before Christmas Eve in the 60s. That was around the last time I watched it.
