Can you name the Weird Al parody?
You know the tunes, now guess the spoofs!
We'll say it... Weird Al Yankovic might just be THE great American.
While that's probably up for debate, Al's lasting impact on comedy music is undeniable. Beginning in 1979, Yankovic has taken some of the most popular songs in music history and made 'em all whacky.
So, what about you? Are you weird enough to know the parody versions of the following songs? We'll list the real ones, and then we'll give you three choices as to what the "Weird" version is.
-
Michael Jackson - "Beat It"
-
Huey Lewis and the News - "I Want a New Drug"
-
Madonna - "Like a Virgin"
-
Robert Palmer - "Addicted to Love"
-
Tiffany - "I Think We're Alone Now"
-
Los Lobos - "La Bamba"
-
The Offspring - "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)"
-
James Blunt - "You're Beautiful"
-
Chamillionaire - "Ridin' Dirty"
-
Lady Gaga - "Born This Way"

Guess I'm just weird. I've been listening to this stuff since a friend of mine recorded the Doctor Demento show off the radio every week and we sit around and listen to the songs. I bought all the early albums with the money I earned as a kid. New paragraph I could sing most every song on this list.

I missed number 8.
And by the way, White and Nerdy was his most popular song. The video is hilarious and stars Key & Peele and Donny Osmond.

10/10 and I hadn’t heard most of these. I’d like to see a comparison between Weird Al and Svengoolie. In fact, Sven had a “Beat It” parody about a whole year before Al did (back from his “Son of Svengoolie” days).
La Bamba and Addicted to Love gave me pause until I remembered a common theme to a lot of Early work (even that might be a spoiler, hint)
You're Beautiful took me a second as well

Knew a bunch of these but also didn't know quite a few, too. I just had to put on my weird hat, and that seemed to work.
One of my favorite Weird Al songs, though not a parody, is this joyous, and totally hilarious, romp:
