Were these movies directed by Penny Marshall or Ron Howard?

Was it Richie Cunningham or Laverne DeFazio?

 The Everett Collection

It's pretty crazy to consider just how much culture emerged from Happy Days. Two of the biggest directors of all time worked on the show. First, obviously Ron Howard was Richie Cunningham. But then, seasons later, Laverne debuted on the show, before Penny Marshall anchored Laverne and Shirley

So, all this talent under the same lights... We want to know whether you can tell them apart! We'll list a movie, you tell us which Happy Days alum directed it.

Good luck, and be sure to share your score (and your favorite of these movies) in the comments section below!

8 out of 10. Isn't that Grant Goodeve (David Bradford in Eight is Enough) on Ron Howard's left?
SteveMcQueen99 Lillyrose 24 hours ago
Nope, that's Richard Hatch (of 'The Streets of San Francisco' and 'Battlestar Galactica'). But you're right, it looks just like Goodeve!

Thanks. I was sure that was Grant Goodeve.

8/10. The photo shows them wearing tops with the ABC logo on them. I wonder if it was shot during "Battle of the Network Stars." I used to love watching that back in the day.

That's what I was thinking. I used to watch it too. they briefly brought it back a few years ago, but it just wasn't the same.

I wouldn't know any of the competitors if they did it today! But I always looked forward to seeing the three networks compete. I think it always ended in a tug-of-war between the top two teams. 🤔

6/10. Riding in cars with boys was a waste of what felt like 6 hours of my life.

7/10, 👎of course I’ll sit through the credits especially since “Director” is listed in the OPENING credits before the movie even starts! It didn’t always appear at the beginning, however, since about the ‘60’s or ‘70’s, the director credit is usually listed last in the opening credits of a film, just before the story begins. My HS drama teacher taught us this.

They had been doing that since the beginning of movies actually telling stories. I’ve noticed now a lot of movies (at least the ones from the big studios) just show the title (sometimes) then go right into the movie, saving all of the credits for the end.

Not bad 8/10."A League of Their Own" was a great movie. Wonder why "Apollo 13" wasn't on the list
