From the big screen to your chimney!
The Everett Collection
Ho ho ho!
Nothing says "It's the holidays" like seeing the big guy on the big screen! But who's the holly-jolliest of them all?
Whose belly most resembles a bowlful of jelly? Whose cheeks are the rosiest?!?!

It's not "cinema"...and it certainly wasn't high art..but since this is MeTV...I have to go with the three-way tie of Scatman Crothers, Ray Walston, and Avery Schreiber, three classic TV guys, on The Love Boat - "Santa, Santa, Santa".
Andy Devine played Santa Claus on an episode of Batman. Batman and Robin were climbing up the side of a building with the Bat rope and Santa opens the window and greets them.
The first time I partisipated in this Greatest Santa Survey, I chose Mickey Rooney ("Santa Claus Is Comin To Town"). But, if we're talking about the movie, "Miracle On 34th Street," then my choice is none other than Sebastian Cabot! Yep! Believe it or not our beloved "Mr. French" went from being a "Gentmen's Gentleman" to becoming "Santa Claus" in the 1973 made-for-televison movie, "Miracle On 34th Street." The movie has a wonderful cast which includes Roddy McDowall, David Doyle, Tom Bosley, and Conrad Janis. And, what do you think? As I was trying to make sure I was listing the movie's cast members correctly, I found a spot online that will allow me to finally see it on YouTube. What a stroke of Christmas luck! Thank you for letting me post, and Merry Christmas to All of you!
Maureen O’Hara said that by the end of filming “Miracle on 34th Street,” Natalie Wood was almost convinced that Edmund Gwenn really was Santa Claus (some of the other cast and crew were ready to believe it as well). She said you could see the look of disappointment on Wood’s face, when Gwenn walked into the wrap party, and he had shaved off his beard and mustache.
How about Alec Baldwin as Nicholas St North (they weren't fooling anybody) in Rise of the Guardians?
Fred Astaire in The Man in the Santa Claus Suit is one of my all time favorite Christmas movie memories. Thanks for including it :)
