Good quiz, don’t want to be picky, but i believe Opie’s comment about peanut butter sandwiches is in the episode “Opie and the Bully.”
10/12! Fairly easy because Elly May was more ruralish! Opie was too educated to use a word like critters, and Andy had more smarts to pass along than Jed!
12/12. Yes, Opie definitely had more education than Elly. I didn't watch the BHs, but I know TAGS very well.
"Weeeeelllll Doggies! I got 12/12!
Agreed that Andy had more smarts than Jed. Andy seemed to have more smarts than about half the population of Mayberry! By the same token, Jed was the smartest of his family. Although I'm not so sure about that. Jethro is the one with the 6th grade education. There were scenes where Jethro would say something, and his Uncle would be so proud of him. He thought his nephew had just spouted something smart!
I remember reading that Buddy Ebsen originally turned down the role, because he didn't want to portray Jed as a country bumpkin, like the rest of his "family." He wanted him to have some smarts. So, obviously, B.E. got what he wanted {to be able to portray Jed the way he wanted:}, and CBS got their Jed!

Fun fact: His role as Audrey Hepburn's ex-husband in Breakfast At Tiffany's sealed the deal! Steph, I'm not a sentimental person, but his last scene at the bus station gets me every time!
