Who starred in these '80s box office bombs?

Yikes! These didn't do well at all!

 Columbia Pictures

Well, they can't all be wins.

Sometimes, even the best efforts result in disaster. That's certainly the case with these box office flops from the 1980s.

Some of them even did well! The problem with those is that they didn't recoup their gigantic budgets.

So, let's take a look back at some notorious flops, and see if you can remember the details!

  1. Who starred in "Heaven's Gate" from 1980?
  2. Honky Tonk Freeway (1981)
  3. Inchon (1982)
  4. The King of Comedy (1983)
  5. The Cotton Club (1984)
  6. Enemy Mine (1985)
  7. The Manhattan Project (1986)
  8. Ishtar (1987)
  9. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988)
  10. Pink Cadillac (1989)

8/10. Enemy Mine was actually a really good movie! It was a pretty original concept and I thought the story was really sweet! Looking it up just now, I read that it was the first western sci-fi to be shown in theaters in the Soviet Union. I’d be interested to find out why.

"8 out of 10. You flip flop flew to the top!" Some good guess work got me that score as I have seen none of those duds and only knew #8 for sure.

9/10. I've only seen one of these movies, which was Baron Munchausen. I remember thinking it was one of the dumbest movies I had ever seen.

While I remember seeing the young Sarah Polley and thinking "this kid bears watching".

Robin Williams was in it too, but was only credited as "Ray DiTutti".

6/10.
Again, not a fan. I watch a movie for the action. The only way I can remember who was in it is if the person was cool in it - such as Bruce Willis in the Die Hard series. Don Johnson in Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. Can't forget the guy from the coolest show on TV -Miami Vice.

Miami Vice was a cool show; cool music, cool clothes, cool cars, and cool vibes.

4 is actually a very good movie! Probably a better Jerry Lewis than The Day The Clown Cried..LOL! Bonus Question: which Sex & The City star appeared in 7? Was it Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, or Kristin Davis?

6/10 I really only knew Pink Cadillac if I'm honest... guessed the rest of them. I'm not a movie goer. I wait until it comes out on DVD or television. Most of the time they're either x-rated or too violent for me. I'm satisfied watching MeTv and the classic shows. 🤗
