Batman fame led to a very scary situation for Burt Ward
Some excessive fans invaded the actor's privacy.

Fame has the potential to change your life, for better or for worse. While Robin might have had the secret identity of Dick Grayson when he wanted some normalcy, Burt Ward was inseparable from the Boy Wonder.
Although he had quite a bit of athletic experience that served him well during action sequences, Ward had originally worked in real estate before he was cast in the 1960s series, Batman.
Although the role came with a lot of fame and notoriety, fans frequently intruded upon the privacy of Ward and his wife.

During an interview with The Morning Call, Ward recalled a particularly frightening incident where fans invaded his life after a family member's address was leaked to the press.
"Some newspaper printed my father-in-law's address in New Jersey where we were staying last week, and we got 173 calls in 45 minutes," said Ward in the interview. "But it was even worse than that. Would you believe it? These cars kept pulling up...I mean, this is a quiet, residential district."
A lack of privacy can be a scary thing, and it can be even more frightening when the people around you don't take it as seriously as they should. To make matters worse, when Ward reached out for assistance from the law, he couldn't find anyone to take him seriously.
"I finally called the police, and the chief laughed and asked if he could bring his kids over," said Ward. "When I said I really meant that I wanted some protection, he said I better call the Gotham City police, who handle these things better."
A celebrity acting on someone's favorite television show doesn't mean that fans deserve to have access to them at all times. Like every other human, actors deserve space and privacy.
