George Reeves had a very cute nickname for his character during Adventures of Superman
Superman? More like super adorable.

It always seems that there's no shortage of bad news these days. Well, just like any superhero, it's our job to put a stop to such misery, and we're doing it the only way we know how: with some very cute Superman trivia.
George Reeves starred as the Man of Steel in the original Adventures of Superman series, which ran from 1952 until 1958. Though he was known to the world as Superman, Reeves had a private nickname for his character that he shared with co-star Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane, while the two worked on set. The actor revealed what it was during an interview with the Associated Press.
"George would come around the side of the wall," said Neill, "blow a kiss and say, 'Don't worry. Superboo's going to save you. He would call himself Superboo."
Neill revealed that Reeves was quite a jokester on set and always kept her laughing, even during filming.
"I get asked why I'm masking a smile so much," said Neill. "Jimmy's in deadly peril, and I'm laughing. It's because George said something funny just before he breaks through the wall."
Plenty of children grew up believing Reeves actually was Superman, and spent their childhoods idolizing the character. "TV was in its infancy then, so every family that had a television set watched Superman," said Neill during an interview with The Commercial Appeal. "And the kids wore the towels and jumped off the roofs and scared their mothers. That's why George is so well remembered."
Even today, viewers look back at Adventures of Superman fondly, offering a bit of an escape, a breath of joy. It's comforting to know that no matter how dismal things may seem, Superman is just around the corner, ready to make us smile.
"Corny as it is, everybody wants a hero, especially when you're young," said Neill during an interview with The Orlando Sentinel. "Everybody would love a man of steel to come to your rescue every once in a while."
