Sail with William Shatner on 'Star Trek: The Cruise'
Next year, Star Trek will turn 50 years old. To celebrate the momentous event, you can finally go where… well, millions of vacationers have gone. Star Trek: The Cruise will push out from Miami on January 9, 2017, with ports of call in Cozumel, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay. The beaches are beautiful, but the real draw is the captain.
Kirk himself, William Shatner, will be onboard! Joining him will be other veterans of Star Trek television series — Marina Sirtis (Troi) and Jonathan Frakes (Riker) from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Robert Picardo (the doctor hologram) from Voyager, James Darren (another hologram) from Deep Space Nine, and more.
Sets from the Star Trek shows will be recreated on the boat. The 15 deck cruise ship will accommodate 2,200 fans. Rates range from $975–$7,500.
Themed cruises are quite popular. This fall, The Duck Commander Cruise, The Back to the Future Cruise and The Turner Classic Movies Cruise will all hit the water, to name a few.
