Steve McQueen said that actors were ''cornballs''

"They bore me."

Sometimes, even actors can get tired of actors. Steve McQueen was widely considered the "King of Cool" by his fans and costars alike, and even he wasn't especially interested in a superficially famous lifestyle.

During an interview with The Daily Item, McQueen didn't speak too highly of his fellow actors. He explained that he and his wife moved up in the hills away for some independence.

"We can get away from actors," said McQueen during an interview with The Daily Item. "They bore me. They're mostly cornballs."

Of course, McQueen set himself apart from other actors. The man knew he had talent, and wasn't afraid to admit it during an interview.

"As an actor, I have something no other actor has. I can't explain it but I've got it."

Though he originally didn't have plans to become an actor, McQueen said that his life changed once he began taking lessons under drama coach Sandy Meisner. "That's when I became a man instead of a boy," said McQueen of his classes. "It took a while, though."

The Wanted Dead or Alive actor admitted that his pursuit of acting was probably for the best, as it made him a better man.

"I found culture in Greenwich Village," said McQueen. "I found it in Stagesville where I could open up and no one could touch me. It's a good thing I did, too. Otherwise, I'd probably be locked up by now. I never liked to talk my way out of anything. I liked to punch my way out."

I watch Wanted Dead or Alive every morning M-F, and obviously love it.
Although this article sounds like he is a bit conceited. I should remember my own advice to not read interviews from my favorite actors, as you will usually be disappointed. Just enjoy their performances and go on.
