Tanya Roberts said that working on Charlie's Angels was ''the best thing that ever happened.''

"I love to work."

Though she had acted in some smaller roles previously, you could argue that Tanya Roberts' career truly took off the moment she was cast in Charlie’s Angels. Though her time on the series was brief, the actor used her year on the popular series to make her mark on the industry.

Roberts became known as Julie Rogers, a worldly Angel who often used her knowledge to help crack a case wide open.

Though Rogers had a tough exterior, Roberts had no issue with wearing her heart on her sleeve. During an interview with The Daily Herald, the young actor expressed pride in her work. Above all, she was grateful.

“This is the best thing that ever happened to me,” said Roberts. “I love to work. And I really like the show. Look at the exposure! This, after all, is show business. You must be seen and recognized. I expect to get offered the type of work that I’ll need to build a solid career.”

Despite the optimism, Roberts didn’t necessarily have high hopes for the series. When the actor was cast, the series was failing.

“It’s an old show,” said Roberts. “It’s on the skids. And I don’t expect I’ll boost the ratings. It’s not my show, to start with. It belongs to the girls who made it, and I must always remind myself of that fact. I also don’t get paid what they do - $50,000 a week, or whatever it is. But I’m lucky to be on it. I would have paid THEM to be on the show.”
