This was the first thing Shelley Hack did after learning she'd booked Charlie's Angels

Though she had appeared on screen before, Shelley Hack had no idea that she’d one day grace the screen of America’s most popular television series.

During an interview, Hack explained what it was like to learn that she had been invited to audition for Charlie’s Angels. “I couldn’t believe it,” said Hack during an interview with the Corpus Christi Times. “It was 10:30 Tuesday morning. I was in the shower, and the phone rang. I thought if they wanted to talk to me badly enough, whoever it was would call back. But the phone kept ringing, so I answered it, dripping on the carpet and shampoo still on my hair.”

Later, Hack met with series creator Aaron Spelling, who told her she had won the role of Tiffany Welles. “I walked into Aaron’s office,” said Hack. “You think of Charlie’s Angels and imagine champagne, caviar, right? Everyone’s sitting around having Coke, potato chips, and sandwiches. They told me the news, and I immediately called my mother in Connecticut.”

Though her time on the series was short, Hack made an incredible impact on television. “I have a very strong philosophy that a lot of people live for tomorrow when they’d be better off living for today,” said the actor. “You have to take things for what they are and make the best of them.”
