WKRP in Cincinnati joins the MeTV weeknight schedule beginning April 2

It's livin' on the air in Cincinnati — and the rest of America!

Baby, if you've ever wondered, wondered whatever became of… WKRP in Cincinnati, well, you're in luck. The beloved sitcom of a rock 'n' roll radio station is coming to MeTV. That's right, Dr. Johnny Fever, Les Nessman and company are hitting our airwaves each weeknight at 9:30PM | 8:30C. It all begins on Monday, April 2.

A sort of bridge between pioneering workplace sitcoms like The Mary Tyler Moore Show and contemporary classics like 30 Rock, WKRP broke new ground in network comedy, while developing delightful characters and true heart. There was the radio station's highest paid employee, receptionist Jennifer Marlowe (Loni Anderson). Who could forget tacky ad man Herb Tarlek (Frank Bonner) or G.M. Arthur Carlson (Gordon Jump)? It's no wonder the series earned 10 Emmy Nominations during its run from 1978–82, including a few for Outstanding Comedy Series. More impressively, the show won a Humanitas Prize, the TV equivalent of a Pulitzer or Nobel, given to shows that "promote human dignity, meaning, and freedom."

But most importantly, WKRP is just really, really funny.

Rediscover it all over again or laugh along for the first time, starting with the pilot episode on April 2.

I like that you are moving Star Trek to a watchable hour. I don't like it that you are replacing Dragnet with The Facts of Life and Different Strokes. Why are you getting rid of The Waltons?
