Meet Errick Spencer: Inside the collection
Step inside a shoe closet worth a quarter of a million dollars.
Mar. 1, 2020
His passion and knowledge of sneakers — mostly Air Jordans — has led Errick "Unbreakable Kicks" Spencer to assemble an enormous and amazing collection of shoes, which he displays and then reviews on his YouTube channel for his many followers.
The Kobe/Jordan pack and Drake collaboration are just a couple of the gems found in his sneaker vault.
Errick’s patient wife TaShamber joins him for support — and to find out just how much he's spent on his latest pair.
Our expert, Anthony Guzman, a shoe store owner and sneaker collector himself, sized up how much Errick’s collection is worth, and attempted to make a sneaky trade with the sneaker collector — bringing along a pair of kicks he knows Errick wants but asking for twice as much in return.
1. Kobe Bryant Air Jordan Pack
Upon the retirement of Kobe Bryant, Nike released this rare "pack" celebrating both Kobe and Michael Jordan in the Lakers colorway (sneaker-speak for color pattern). Less than 100 were made, driving the value up to $25,000.
2. Air Jordan I Chicago Bulls Colorways
Let's go back to where it all started — not just Errick's personal collection but the sneaker collecting craze in general. These Air Jordan I sneakers came in MJ's team colors, including the coveted "Bred" (black and red) colorway. They are worth about $1,800.
3. AIr Jordan 1 - LA to Chicago Edition
The purple-and-gold Laker Jordans were actually just painted over a Bulls colorway. You can rub the color off — as Errick had done here — and reveal the Chicago look underneath.
4. Drake OVO Air Jordans
Errick cherishes this Nike collaboration with Drake's OVO brand, because Drake happens to be his favorite rapper. The white-and-gold colorway may not be worth as much as other shoes in his collection, but the Jordan VIII and Jordan XIV Kentucky Wildcats PEs (Player Exclusive) kicks rocket the value seen here to $19,000!
5. Air Jordan VII Dream Team with Lace Pack
USA! USA! Nike dropped the Jordan VII shoe in 1992 to celebrate the Barcelona Summer Olympics. These Dream Team special editions sport the color of different national flags — and the scores by which we beat them. The lace pack styled in the Olympic rings drives up the value to $2,000.
6. Travis Scott Edition Air Jordans
Superstar rapper Travis Scott collaborated with Nike for these Jordan I and IV kicks. Errick bought them at retail for about $175–$200, but they are worth upwards of $2,000 already. Note the cool reverse swoosh on the right.
7. Glow-in-the-dark Nike Air Yeezy 1
Before he became an Adidas man, rapper Kanye West collaborated with Nike for his Air Yeezy shoes. This early edition features glow-in-the-dark soles and costs about $3,500.
8. Michigan Air Jordan PEs
To get Wolverines PEs like these, you need a connect on the team. NCAA rules bar players from selling their shoes, so the numbers have been inked out with black marker.
9. Oregon PEs
Like the University of Michigan sneakers above, these team shoes from the Oregon Ducks program, Nike's hometown team.
10. Air Yeezy 2 "Red October"
Our expert and appraiser brought along these rare Yeezys, valued at $7,000, In return, he wants two pairs from Errick's collection. You have to watch Collector's Call to see if they made the trade!
