Meet Doogie Sandtiger: Inside the Collection

Step aside, glass slipper — these Crocs are the real fairy tale!

Apr. 27, 2025

As a child growing up in foster care, Doogie Sandtiger never learned to tie his shoes—but as it turns out, he never had to. He found another solution, one that sparked a lifelong passion and eventually made him a Guinness World Record holder for the largest collection of Crocs.

It was a goal he set years ago, and one he proudly achieved when he showed Lisa his collection of more than 3,500 pairs.

Doogie has put his heart and soles into collecting what might be the most iconic—and ironic—collection we've ever seen.

Doogie’s journey into collecting began 18 years ago. What started with a single pair led to two, and two eventually led to 3,500. Take a look at just a few of the many Crocs in his collection!

1. Takashi Murakami Collab Croc

This is one of Doogie’s favorite pairs of Crocs in his collection. He hates choosing between favorites, but this one stands out to him.

It was so rare and so hard to get—it’s a collaboration with well-known Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. This pair was only available at a Chicago convention, and they only made around 200 of these, with even fewer of the special Jibbitz charms.

It’s super rare and super exclusive—truly a "Croc" of the highest order. It's one of the most expensive pairs in his collection. The work only a true "Croc Hunter" and "Croc King" could pull off.

They even replaced the Croc logo on the side with Murakami’s signature logo, making it a truly "artistic" edition.

Because of the collaboration, the resale value soared. According to our expert, this limited-edition pair would be worth around $2,500.

2. Crocs Cowboy Boots

Lisa was born and raised in Texas and wants a pair of these Cowboy Crocs—as we all do.

These were released on National Croc Day, October 23, 2023. Crocs wanted to reward their fanbase, the "Croc Stars," with a special pair of Crocs.

They bought each one of their influencers a star, where they formed a huge Croc constellation—a "Croc-stellation," if you will.

These Croc Cowboy Boots even has a little spinner. They had a wide release, but only 100 pairs were made as part of a PR campaign for the influencers, each with their names on the box.

When a pair has a level of notoriety, like being featured on Collector's Call and having Lisa touch them, it only drives up the price. If Doogie ever decided to sell, he’d be in a constellation of his own.

This pair is one of the stars of the Croc collecting world, and Doogie is a star himself—kind of literally.

According to our expert, these would be worth around $3,000 today.

3. KFC Crocs Collab

This Croc collectible rules the roost and was on Doogie’s Croc bucket list—literally.

These Crocs were never sold to the public but were only handed out as PR gifts. You can't find this pair anywhere.

It even featured a scented Jibbitz drumstick, so not only do they look like fried chicken, but they smelled like it too!

KFC saw a big opportunity to collaborate with the Crocs brand. Crocs are all about being quirky and fun, and what better way to get that across than with a Kentucky Fried Croc.

This was released as part of New York Fashion Week, with people strutting down the runway in them. KFC, Crocs, and high fashion—Lisa said it best: "One of these things is not like the other."

He found these Crocs after tracking down someone willing to sell them to him. They were originally $600, but because of how rare they are, they could be worth even more. A finger-lickin' good deal!

According to our expert, this would be worth around $3,000.

4. Balenciaga Crocs Purse

You’ve got to have a bag to go with the shoes!

This is a collaboration with Balenciaga, and is one of the first lines of purses Crocs ever started making. It looks like a Croc, complete with the holes and the Crocs tread at the bottom of the bag.

They made a few different colors, but the "Crocodile Green" was the most sought after. Other colors included white, black, and pink.

Doogie knew he had to have it—in the green color especially. A Croc item of high royalty for the "Croc King" himself.

According to our expert, this would be worth around $3,000—perfect for shoe lovers and purse lovers alike.

5. Lazy Oaf Croc Collab

These Crocs almost sold out immediately, and seeing how big, beautiful, and bold they are, we can see why.

They’re another limited-edition Croc and a collaboration with the fashion brand Lazy Oaf. This model is called the Mega Crush, and it came with the Jibbitz.

It’s a colorful Croc for a colorful collector.

Doogie wore these at a wedding, where flowers and Jibbitz flew as he walked down the aisle—so it’s a Croc for multiple occasions.

This pair sold out in seconds, so he had to search for them himself. It’s the story, not the value, that matters for Doogie.

Our expert valued them at $500, complete with the "Doogie tax."

6. MSCHF Big Red Boots (Yellow) Collab

According to Doogie, these are one of the silliest pairs in his collection! They’re completely wearable and a collaboration with MSCHF.

The original version was big red boots, but these came out afterward. Although these boots look like they aren’t made for walking—they definitely are.

They may look big, but they’re in Doogie’s size, and he can even be seen walking his dogs in them on occasion.

According to our expert, these would be worth around $400 today.
