I used to watch many of the award shows in the 80's and 90s but quit watching when they turned into more of a chance for celebrities to preach their liberal nonsense. Very few celebrities left I want to hear anything from anymore and sure don't want some multi millionaire acting like they care about common people and telling me how to vote.

I use to watch the Oscars and Grammy award shows in the 70s and early 80s because I wanted to watch people whom I admired get awarded for their work. As I grew older I found out that I prefer not to watch or attend award ceremonies unless I am a nominee and have a chance to be awarded. When you or a loved one are a nominee for an award the proceedings become extremely more interesting.

I felt the same way at that Oscar ceremony when I wasn't nominated that year but attended for the dinner anyway.

I think that all award shows are useless. Why should awards be given out to people and or bands for their music? I think awards are stupid.

I am an equal-opportunity non-viewer. I don't watch the Emmys, Oscars or the Grammys. Actually, if there are any others, I don't watch them either!
