Revisit the most popular personals ad of all time.
Forty years ago, one of the most memorable personals ads of all time was unleashed as a pop song that had everybody writing about long walks on the beach long after.
Rupert Holmes' "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" shot to No. 1 in 1979, and it remains a popular pick on movie soundtracks, even today.
Think you can remember every note of this decades-old hit? If it helps, put the blender away for now to keep you from mixing things up below...
-
I was tired of my lady, we’d been together too long / Like a [???] recording, of a favorite song
-
So while she lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed / And in the personals column, there was this [???] I read
-
If you like Pina Coladas, and getting [???] in the rain
-
If you’re not into [???], If you have half a brain
-
If you like making love at [???], in the dunes of the cape
-
I’m the love that you’ve [???], write to me, and escape.
-
I didn’t think about [???], I know that sounds kind of mean
-
But me and my old lady, had fallen into the [???] routine
-
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad / And though I’m nobody’s [???], I thought it wasn’t half bad.
-
Yes I like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain / I’m not much into [???], I am into champagne
-
I’ve got to meet you by tomorrow noon, and cut through all this red tape / At a bar called [???], where we’ll plan our escape.
-
So I waited with high hopes, then she walked in the place / I knew her smile in an instant, I knew the [???] of her face
-
It was my own lovely lady, and she said, [???] / And we laughed for a moment, and I said, “I never knew”
-
That you liked Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain / And the [???] of the ocean, and the taste of champagne
-
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape / You’re the [???] that I’ve looked for, come with me, and escape.

13/15. I thought I'd run the table but missed the last 2. Can't believe I took 'lady' over 'love' on No. 15.
15 out of 15. I used to listen to this song at the store where I worked. They played old songs there at one time before they began playing the crap they play now seven days a week.
You got 8 out of 15
You deserve a little escape after that one ....
Didn't do good on the quiz, but the song brought back good memories.

It looks like I'm the only one that got 15/15 correct. Some others got 13/15, some even worse than that.
13/15. Foiled by 4 and 12. Heard this song A LOT when I was in the eighth grade. Rupert Holmes' other top ten hit was actually better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuENKbzJXxU&list=OLAK5uy_l9HdR_kEeijXEKhOQ_S-04TkXaPvxk_GA
7/15.This is one of those songs I didn't realize I did a lot of humming words I don't know.😋Oh yeah,and another thing I always think it's Jimmy Buffet.Fun quiz👍

You are wrong on question 15, listen to the song it’s lady not love. Please fix.
Actually I recall the song uses both "lady" and "love" in different choruses, so it's kind of a tricky question.
