Can you fill in the missing character names for these ‘Dick Van Dyke Show’ episode titles?

Most of the characters had episodes named after them – even Mel Cooley!

The Dick Van Dyke Show is one of the most beloved sitcoms in TV history. It was both a family and workplace comedy and it set a high bar that few shows have reached since.

The series had many witty monikers to go along with the hilarious plotlines. Sometimes, especially if an episode focused on a particular member of the cast, character names would be used in the episode titles.

Here are 12 of those episode titles – except with the character names taken out. Can you place the correct name in each blank?

  1. "______ is a Girl"
  2. "The _________ Show Goes to Jail"
  3. "The Two Faces of ______"
  4. "_____ and the Lab Technician"
  5. "________, Man and Boy"
  6. "See _____ Write; Write, _____, Write"
  7. "______’s Little Lie"
  8. "A Day in the Life of _______"
  9. "The Bottom of ________’s Heart"
  10. "Dear ________"
  11. "The Secret Life of ______ and ______"
  12. "Teacher’s _______"

10/12 I thought I would do better, but not every episode started with a title.

You got 11 out of 12 - Jump for joy, you did great! Fat fingered # 3 or would have been perfect. Oh well, I'll take it.

Buddy Sorrell, Man and Boy was Buddy finally getting Bar Mitzvah, becoming a man in the Jewish Faith. It was based on a true story (as a lot of the episodes were) from the Sid Caesar show. Who was the writer? Rumor was Mel Brooks.. But no proof

Does that make it a 3/4-hearted performance?

9/12 Tripped over the ottoman again. I missed numbers 4, 10 and 12. TDVDS is easily in my all time favorite television show top five, but I've never paid much attention to the titles.
No. You were probably too focused on whether the episode would be the one where he trips the over the ottoman, or sidesteps it; to notice the titles.
score: 9/12. Missed: 12/11/3.
