The best part about Green Acres is the absurdity it brings to everyday life. The Ziffel’s son, Arnold, was normal in that he liked watching TV Westerns, rode to school on the bus and even fetched his own snacks from Sam Drucker’s store. The one slight difference between him and the other kids is that he happened to be a pig.
As with most of the strange things in Hooterville, Oliver seemed to be the only one that thought this was out of the ordinary. Everyone else was happy to accept Arnold for who he was, including the show’s fans. Arnold received fan mail just like his human costars.
