Can you guess the top films of 1984 by just three of the actors?

Can you, like, guess these bodacious movies by three totally righteous actors?

 The Everett Collection

The 1980s were a golden era of movies if you loved big, splashy blockbusters. Every week there was another spectacle to sit down and watch, and any money you didn't spend on popcorn you could use at the arcade afterward.

Some of the titles that hit the screens in 1984 are still around today... and some franchises still have movies coming out now. Can you identify the highest-grossing movies of 1984 just by a few of the names from the credits?

  1. Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, Ronny Cox
  2. Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, William Atherton
  3. Harrison Ford, Philip Stone, Kate Capshaw
  4. Phoebe Cates, Corey Feldman, Polly Holliday
  5. Elizabeth Shue, William Zabka, Ralph Macchio
  6. Kim Cattrall, Steve Guttenberg, Scott Thomson
  7. John Lithgow, Dianne Weist, Chris Penn
  8. Kathleen Turner, Danny DeVito, Holland Taylor
  9. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Robin Curtis
  10. Tom Hanks, Eugene Levy, John Candy

Can you guess the top films of 1984 by just three of the actors?

They didn't catch me with the Star Trek trick but I missed Gremlins and Splash, two films I actually did see.

I guessed wrong on "Footloose" and "Police Academy." Probably because I never saw those in the cinema. In fact, I only watched parts of each film on cable a few years later.

Mine too. 1984 had the best toys and cartoons in my opinion (of course, most of the cartoons I liked in the era were based on toys)
