Can you guess which episodes of The Andy Griffith Show actually aired in black & white?

Prove you have a photographic memory for Mayberry.

When The Andy Griffith Show premiered, episodes aired in black & white, and we wouldn't find out for several seasons about Andy's tan uniform or those green bars around his desk.

There were so many details about Mayberry that came to light once the episodes shifted to color, but there were also shifts in characters, with favorites leaving the show, making room for new faces in town.

Think you can tell the difference between episodes of The Andy Griffith Show that aired in color and in black & white?

Prove you've got a photographic memory for Mayberry by scrolling through the scenes below. We've converted all color episodes to black & white, so it's up to you to figure out which ones should be in color, and which ones you truly saw in grayscale. Good luck!

Watch The Andy Griffith Show on MeTV!

Weeknights at 8 & 8:30, Sundays at 6 & 6:30 PM

12/12. I know my Andy Griffith Show and I’ve seen every episode and own every episode. While watching MeTV today I noticed a promo for the lineup for tonight and when talking about TAGS there’s a clip of Andy as an umpire but it’s in Black and White and the only episode I know of he’s an umpire is the Ball Game in Season 7 which is in color. Why is this promo showing B&W? Just curious if anybody else noticed
