Dr. Joyce Brothers was the original pop psychologist. From 1960 to 2013, she wrote a daily advice column syndicated in hundreds of newspapers. She was also a go-to guest star for television shows, especially in the 1970s and 1980s.
Every sitcom seeming had a Dr. Joyce cameo. Her first acting role came on Love, American Style in 1973. That being said, she achieved TV fame years early. She became the only woman to ever win the top prize on the game show The $64,000 Question in 1955.
