Pat Morita's character in Happy Days was not Arnold. His name was Matsuo Takahashi. He never had the sign changed because, as he said, "...letters are very expensive. Do you know how many letters are in Takahashi?"

You clearly know what are you talking about. Missed #9, never saw that show in color.

9/10. Missed number 9. I don't remember that kid.
One of the episodes he was on was when he and Opie found a baby in front of the courthouse. Arnold convinced Opie to find a home for the baby instead of telling his father about it. They were asking people all across town of they would like a baby.
They embarrassed Goober and Helen. They even asked Sarah the operator.

There were 2 Arnolds on Happy Days. 1st was a husky white guy then the Japanese guy who explained that he Americanized his name to Arnold to match restaurant's neon sign. ☺

I call foul. As all TRUE Happy Day's Fans know, "Arnold"'s real name was Matsuo Takahashi. He bought the restaurant which was ALREADY named Arnold's. He only took the name to save time.
I was going to say the same thing. His name was not Arnold, he just went by Arnold. Also the "Star" of Diff'rent Strokes was not named Arnold, it was Gary. His character name was Arnold, though.
