Can you understand all this beatnik slang from The Beverly Hillbillies?
Are you hep or are you square, Daddy-O?
CBS Television Distribution
In The Beverly Hillbillies episode "Clampett A-Go-Go," a hipster named Sheldon Epps ends up in the Clampett mansion after trying to sell his artwork to the Drysdales. With his dirty sweatshirt and facial hair, he resembled Maynard G. Krebs (Bob Denver) of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, the most well-known beatnik in classic TV.
Sheldon has goo-goo eyes for Elly May, while Jed and the rest of the Clampett clan struggle to understand a single word he says.
Do you think you can dig the slang that "Shelly" is spewing?

9/13 I don't recall this episode. Appears to be a early B&W one. I do remember the hippie "smokin' crawdads" one and it was one of my favorites!
