Quite a figure, but, not one of my favorite episodes, except when Barney tells her to be careful for his trigger finger !

Wendy,
I think this episode penned by men speaks more to men, we have all acted that way.
If there was no wife or girlfriend - or even one's sister or mom - around, the reaction of
the guys in the barbershop to a tight skirted Barbra Eden is exactly the way all we rutting
swine would behave, were we there. Reverting to awkward 15 year old boys, keeping up the comments and elbowing each other.

5/10 Dreadful score.
4/10 yikes! 😄
7/10 can you imagine how crazy the guys would have gone had they seen "Ellen" in her I Dream of Genie outfit?
Outstandin’! … Not my score, Barbara Eden.
When I think of her early work, it's this episode and her turn on "I Love Lucy".
She was astoundingly beautiful as a girl at Ricky and Lucy's Connecticut country club.

In an interview she mentioned the I
Lucy episode. She said she spent most of the time that day hiding from Desi. He was aggressive.
Lucy episode. She said she spent most of the time that day hiding from Desi. He was aggressive.
Desi was drunk and chased her all over the lot. She ran into what turned out to be Lucy's
office, in tears, Lucy comforted her. The marriage was on the rocks, the last episode
of the Connecticut set hour episodes, Desi was smashed and emotionally distraught,
Lucy as well barely held it together. The culture he grew up in, chasing women
on the side was no big deal and had nothing to do with Lucy and the kids, as he
loved and supported them, however odd that seems to us.
He was a genius behind the scenes, creating the 3 camera set up etc, but he
pickled his brain in booze. Saddest thing you will ever see was his turn on The
Virginian, drunk as a sailor, the producers should have honored his past as a
great TV pioneer behind/before the camera and just sent him home after
scrapping the footage.

In the 90's our local library had a large section on Hollywood/Movies/TV/Bios of stars
because there was some big Broadway producer in town who donated those type books
every year. They made for terrific light reading and I soaked up a lot of trivia along with
the history. For what its worth, the Robert Mitchum bio "Baby I Don't Care" is one of
the best I have ever read. I had no idea what a fascinating man he was, an autodidact
who rode the rails as a hobo when younger. He wrote excellent poetry, knocked out a
drunk top pro fighter; to prep for his role as a moonshiner in Thunder Road he
showed up a month early on location and ran shine in a souped up car for the local
hillbillies. Even at the height of his stardom he set time aside for family vacations,
driving his station wagon around America for weeks, fishing/hunting/seeing the sites,
hardly anyone ever recognized him because he grew a beard, it never crossed anyone's
mind that this wasn't just another dad and mom and their kids.
