9/10. Not a bad episode. But I bet in a fight, Michael Ansara would kick Shatner's butt.

10/10 Definity one of the best episodes I ever seen. Kang: "We have no Devil Kirk, but I'm aware of the characteristics of yours."

10/10 590/620. And Kang's wife's name is Mara, not Kara. Fellow Trekkies, correct me if I am wrong.

As a chess player, I thought it was amusing when the 3-D chess set turned into swords. Chess is symbolic of warfare after all. Also, of all the swords in this episode, I liked Scotty's Scottish claymore with its brass basket hilt the best.
I was a tournament chess player in the USCF when I first saw this episode too, so I was also intrigued by that.

Michael Ansara is the ultimate guest star for sci-fi television. Westerns, too.

It’s definitely the voice.
I recall on a TV episode, Barbara Eden is admiring a painting in a art gallery,
she notes "it's an Ansara."
Michael Ansara was her husband. For my money, one of the best character actors ever.

My favorite is Morgan Woodward.
He played a lot of Indian roles.

10/10 John Colicos was supposed to return as Kor (from "Errand of Mercy"), but there were scheduling conflicts. I thought Michael Ansara as Kang made a good replacement.
