8/10 553/580. Stumbled badly out of the gate by missing the first 2 questions. Must have been all the Saurean brandy.

8/10. Fair episode. The design of the alien obelisk is awesome looking. Shooting the episode outdoors definitely enhanced its look and scope.

Oh! Interesting - They REWROTE question #1. I don't recall seeing that happen before on ANY of these quizzes. Often they will fix grammatical issues or other small failings. But on this one, they have completely reframed the question and replaced two of the three answers! (It's still something that wasn't said/shown in the episode, but man they TRIED to fix it up!)

10/10 Lucky guess on #1.

I'm sure Chief Goro wouldn't be happy about members of his tribe killing his daughter. But in the original script, Miramanee recovers and has Kirk's child.
And in the films look what happened to his son, David. Man, that guy will get the writers going to any length to avoid child support!

5/10 my usual "highly illogical". 🫣

9/10. I love the look of the area in which this episode was filmed. I'm sure they used it many times.

9/10 I Thought it was headband!
I like the tension between Spock and McCoy in this episode.

The End theme music by Gerald Fried is beautiful.

I agree. That ending sequence and the music were excellent. The poor man losing his beloved wife.

8/10. Missed 1 & 9.

Did you pick "headband"?
CaptainDunsel Muleskinner 13 hours ago
I almost did that. But then I recalled that the headband was the symbol of the "Medicine Chief", while the cloak was the wedding garb.

"Behold! The God who bleeds!"
Question #1 is "questionable" (as in "not a fair question"). No name for the planet was ever given in the episode. The answer they give (which I admittedly forgot) is from the SCRIPT.

I leave that to your own sense of right/wrong. I know that on another quiz ("By Any Other Name") I count myself as getting all 10 right because they gave an answer based in an incorrect hearing of the dialogue. On this one, I don't because I *did* know the "answer" at one time, even though it's not in the episode itself. YMMV.
I assume it was mentioned in the James Blish novelizations that came out back in the day. Appearing in print, there was a lot more room for additional details that were left out in the aired episodes.

Well....I guess since I didn't know the answer, I can't really count it as right. The question should never have been asked, though. If you're going to base questions on a TV episode, watch the episode!

I'll have to check. I have all of those...somewhere.
