You got 9 out of 10

Phew... Threat neutralized!
I believe Kathryn Hays was married to Glenn Ford at one time

I always liked this episode (if nothing else because I could understand the bulk of it, given how young I was at the time). Kathryn Hays as "Gem" always set my heart aflutter. My usual 6/10 score points to the sore truth that I need to rewatch this interesting (if cheaply made) episode.

Kathryn Hays did such a great job with no dialog. Being a kid, I somehow got the idea that Ms Hays was in fact Lorene Yarnell, of "Shields and Yarnell" mime fame.

9/10. Once again, I got the last question wrong. The quotation, of course. Grrrr......😬

9/10 Got a good score because I had to watch this one so many times before I could figure it out. I still don't know if I do. I think they were just used as lab rats.

And I happen to like little lab rats.
I think you hit upon the basic premise- huzzah! It really was a simple episode, as the third season usually went. Now you are free to watch and rewatch in peace. Enjoy!

7/10. This was probably my least liked episode. I remember the scene of the dead Scientist Researchers stuffed in preservative jars to me was gruesome and grotesque.

This episode has a nice musical suite.
