It is a great show. We are very lucky we can watch tv shows from the 50s and 60s. The panelists were always so witty and charming. Something in short supply now.

The toast scene.

That was The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre. Gold Hat. He and his cronies got their comeuppance. Great movie.

True. I must say I felt sorry for Peter Lawford. Frank’s pride was hurt when the president cancelled his staying at Frank’s house. How it was Lawford’s fault is beyond me.

That episode was on not long ago. I read up on his gunslinger exploits a few years ago. Sammy just goes whatever he does. All the men Rat Pack crew are no longer. They left a great trail of history for us. Not all good but who is.

In 1992, Ray Harryhausen received the Gordon E. Sawyer Award (the lifetime achievement Oscar) Tom Hanks said "Some people say Casablanca or Citizen Kane. I say Jason and the Argonauts is the greatest film ever made!"

I grew up before even home VHS.I only saw J&TA when it aired on TV.I remember staying up late to watch it for the 2nd time.It was magic. Some people understand and some don't.I had a Dell comics adaptation that I absolutely wore out.

Oh yes. Talos used to scare the fleese out of me.
BlitzMe Gossemer 6 days ago
I agree! I’m an adult Mom with grown sons and I still get creeped out when Talos begins to move!!

That’s an awesome quote by Hanks. I love Casablanca & I like Citizen Kane, but Jason & the Argonauts is right alongside those as a TRUE classic.
The skeletons and the multi-headed dragon/serpent are still very EERIE!!

Exactly—give me Ray Harryhausen any day over CGI. This was a Master at work
Gossemer BlitzMe 5 days ago
So true. His heart and vision went into his creations. I can see every jerky movement and love every second of it. The children of the hydra's teeth were amazing.

Exactly! This was “horror” and suspense at its BEST, without all the blood, gore, & overtly gothic mess of today. It was brill! 👏 😎

10/10. I'm a big fan of Ray's work. RIP.

9 out of 10. And for my fellow late GenXers/early Millennials out there, don't forget that The Adventures of Mark Twain has one of the scariest sequences ever put to film.
I haven't seen that flick in a long time, what was the scary part?

6/10 missed 6,7,8,9 all guesses.

I thought this was a difficult quiz. I had no idea on any of them. 😄 Mine were all guesses too.

8/10, didn't mention my favorite, "It Came From Beneath The Sea."

Only 6/10. I'm only familiar with his works from the 1950's. Didn't he also do the visual affects for "Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers"? That is one of the better Sci-fi movies of the 1950s and yet it was neglected in this quiz.

That was a good movie.

10/10. I'm a huge RH fan and have several books about him. He remains a legendary figure in the world of stop-motion animation. My favorite films by Ray are: The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Mysterious Island, Jason & the Argonauts. These films were a perfect blend of Ray's fantastic visual effects supported by a strong screenplay.
Valley of Gwangi has the longest amount of stop-motion animation minutes on screen.

8/10. Mostly guesses, although I was familiar enough with some to answer correctly.
