Did they ever remake these TV shows into Hollywood movies?
It seems as if everything has been remade. But has it?
Recently, studios tried to turn CHiPs and Baywatch into the next 21 Jump Street. Sometimes it seems as if every memorable television show has been turned into a big-screen movie. Especially during the 1990s.
But they have not. Believe it or not, for every Addams Family Values there is an I Love Lucy, a show that thankfully was never remade with Amy Adams or someone. (Oops, did we just give them an idea?)
Below, you will find a list of classic TV shows. All you have to do is remember if the title was remade as a feature film. A couple notes: We are talking about movies in cinemas, with new casts, NOT made-for-TV movies and reunions. Good luck!

You got 16 out of 16. Some might say Mr Ed was a remake of Francis the talking Mule series of movies.
16/16. I do have to add that there were two theatrical McHale's Navy films released during the original series run as well: 1964's McHale's Navy and 1965's McHale's Navy Join the Air Force (the latter, oddly, didn't have Ernest Borgnine in it due to scheduling conflicts).
Although Tom Arnold was in the McHale's Navy movie, I'd say Kelsey Grammer was the star. I mean he was a bigger star than Tom ever was.
I think you might have confused McHale's Navy with the Kelsey Grammer-starrer Down Periscope, which had a similar premise and came out a year earlier. I got tripped up a bit too because I could have sworn there was a Mister Ed movie, but then I realized it was Hot to Trot, a film with a talking horse voiced by John Candy.
I was living outside the country for part of the 90s, and I see that I missed a bunch of questionable remakes.
I guess the Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island doesn't count as a movie.

You have the keen sense of a studio executive. But we bet you would know better than to remake a wholesome classic like Leave It to Beaver.

BTW The lead singer of the New York Dolls has a name ..... it's David Johannson or Buster Poindexter to you.
