Pick: What would you watch on TV in 1959?

Gee, Wally! There sure is some swell stuff on the tube.

It's that time again! Time to enter the time machine. We're heading back to 1959. As much as you might want to get out and explore Eisenhower's America, or shake, rattle and roll… there's a lot of great stuff on television. So we're staying in each evening.

Here is what the three networks had on offer in the fall of '59. Remember, you had to get up off the lounger to turn the knobs.

See how your choices compare to others.
  1. We begin on a Sunday night, October 4. With pot roast and peas in your belly, pick something to watch at 7:30PM.
  2. Now it is the following evening, Monday at 8:30PM. Pick sometime.
  3. Will you change the channel to something else at 9PM?
  4. You also happen to have some time during the middle of the next day. Will you go with music, soap or games at 4:30PM?
  5. The sun has set on Tuesday. Cozy up on the couch and watch something at 8:30PM.
  6. Wednesday! Would you like some family comedy, science-fiction or a game show?
  7. Now it is 9PM this fine Wednesday evening. What are you most likely to watch in the next hour?
  8. Yep, it's Thursday. Which mean there are more sitcoms and Westerns on tap.
  9. Why not stay up a bit longer? Watch something at 10PM.
  10. We're going to settle in for the evening on Friday. First, we begin with these selections at 7:30PM.
  11. Now pick something at 9:30PM.
  12. And now at 10PM?
  13. We have reached the final day of our time travel journey. Pick something at 7:30PM.
  14. And for your final selection at 8:30PM?
