Put these 1970s events in the right order

Rank these chronologically from 1-10!

 The Everett Collection

This one's a little bit different from our other quizzes.

We love the '70s. It was a fabulous decade filled with great pop culture moments.

But how well do you remember the events? Specifically, can you recall what happened when?

We'll list ten events, and under each will be an option from "1" to "10." Your job is to list the number that would put these events in the right order.

So if you know the one that happened first, select "1." The last one, of course, will be "10!"

Good luck, and be sure to share your score in the comments section below!

P.S. Take your time and maybe write down your guesses with a pen and paper first. You only get one shot at choosing the correct order!

  1. Ali defeats Foreman in the "Rumble in the Jungle"
  2. The Munich Olympics take place
  3. Elvis Presley dies
  4. The Godfather is released in theaters
  5. The Beatles break up
  6. Pope John Paul II is elected
  7. The partial meltdown at Three Mile Island
  8. Nixon resigns
  9. The United States Bicentennial
  10. Tennis fans watch the "Battle of the Sexes"

Put these 1970s events in the right order

8/10 I got a couple of the middle years mixed up.

Watching FredFlix helped me put a couple of them in order (Three Mile Island and Pope John Paul II).

10/10 Graduated in 75. Wrote them down. Took 5 minutes to put the correct year next to them.

7/10. Knew five. Remember almost evacuating due to TMI when I was a kid. We packed but never ended up leaving anyway.

1/10 Rumble In The Jungle was on TCM on the weekend.
Actually, you meant When We Were Kings! It's TCM NOT ESPN Classic!
Right, right! But what do you mean by ESPN?
I think that means Extra Sensitive Perceptual Nuisance.

I don't know what NOT stands for.

2/10 you wouldn't think that the 70's was my decade by my score. But, it was. Must of had my mind on girls and sports, not history. 🤣

Elvis is dead!? I don't believe it! And I remember when the ice cream melted at Baskin/Robbins, but I've never heard of the Three Mile brand. And isn't Godfathers pizza still sold in theaters?
No, the owner died of COVID in 2020!

"You got 9 out of 10. Hey, you're a real historian!" I was a teenager during most of the 70's so I remember these events pretty well but I couldn't recall when the Three Mile Island Disaster Occurred, so I missed that one. It was 1979. I should have figured that there would be one event from that year. Close but no cigar. Aw Shucks! Better luck next time!

3/10 yikes! I was only in grade school that decade. Also, wow, flipping back and forth trying to put these in order...I was getting dizzy! Lol 😄🤪

I missed all but 1 of em'. Put that down in your history book.

I agree, it was hard to keep up.

That was one confusing quiz. At first I wasn't even going to do it. I'm still dizzy from it. Lol 😂

Most definitely. I wonder why they came up with a quiz like that.🤔 I guess they're trying to shake things up from the norm.😂

I remember hearing on the radio when poor Elvis passed away, and I remember Three Mile Island...that's about it.

Not a flippin' CHANCE!
#9, ok - and I *might* get #2 and #8. But the rest would be a total crapshoot.
