We're passing out candy a little early this year!

Everyone say, "trick or treat!" MeTV is passing out candy early this year.

As we grow up and become adults, we often forget how much we love the candy and costumes. Passing out treats and sneaking a few isn’t the same as coming home with a pillowcase full of goodies.

Today, we want to learn your Halloween preferences. Based on your answers, we will do our best to fill your trick-or-treat bag with candy that you love! If you aren’t happy with the result, at least you didn’t get an apple, or a toothbrush.

Let’s celebrate the spooky season together!

  1. You're about to go trick-or-treating! What is the perfect weather for Halloween?
  2. If you had to pick one, which of these classic Halloween costumes would you wear?
  3. Were you always the house that had all the spooky decorations?
  4. What's your favorite type of candy on Halloween?
  5. Pick one candy you wish you could bring back:
  6. Did your family stay in your neighborhood for trick-or-treating or travel somewhere else?
  7. What was the worst thing you could get in your trick-or-treat bag?
  8. Was there a certain way you'd organize your candy?
  9. Do you pass out candy as an adult?
  10. Quick: Pick one chocolate-based Halloween candy!
  11. Which of these candies would you eat first?
  12. What is your favorite part about Halloween?
  13. Quick: Pick one chewy/gummy Halloween candy!
  14. Pick a type of candy you'd be okay with never eating again:

The best of both worlds

Even though I’m a Red Sox fan, I’m not ashamed to say that I picked the Reggie Bar for #5.

You got "The best of both worlds"! --- Actually, I enjoyed when adults dropped pennies into my trick or treat bag... 😋

Best of both worlds! I love Halloween, as a kid, a parent, and now a grandparent.

I’m sorry, but, we get so many trick or treaters, that I have to buy the most affordable candy. Candy along with everything else has gotten so
expensive ! Usually the midget tootsie rolls.

classic candies for me - now #4 was what the fook? - the only candies I did not like were candy corn and 3 musketeers (too sweet) there was a joke that kids would do - if they were missing front or bottom teeth ; they would bite a piece of candy corn for a implant

now why were smarties or sweet tarts off the list?

Yes, Sweet tarts were great, but, I prefer sour candies.

can see that - but smarties and sweet tarts have been around forever (just like me:))

I picked Reese's Peanut Butter Cups three times, yet they weren't included in my bag. 🤷‍♂️

They need a "None of the Above". "I Like Them All" option for #14.

Chewy candy. Um, no. Chocolate and lots of it. We pass a house in a small town near us that had the toxic waste barrel/skeleton thing last year... they've upped their game this year to a human head & torso turning on a spit in an old BBQ grill. Yeah, I think that crosses some sort of line actually.

All these questions about Halloween, but no mention of "tick-tacking"? If you've never heard of it, It's about mischief... straight up being a bratty kid at the expense of your neighbors and anyone else who might cross your path. Almost all tick-tacking was done at night, during the month of October, but was seldom if ever done after Halloween. But first, you've got to get as much "cow corn" as you can accumulate. Lucky for us as kids, our houses were surrounded by farms; plenty of corn for everyone... we literally had buckets full! With that corn you could: 1)-Throw corn at houses with aluminum awnings! The sound is makes is amazing! 2)-Throw corn at passing cars while hiding behind buildings, wooded areas, row hedges, or from anything above the road. 3)-Soap the windows of houses and cars... Ivory soap works best, but if all you have is "Irish Spring", it'll do in a pinch. 4)-Toss a cake of brewers yeast into an outhouse! The resulting mess happens hours later, and it's truly disgusting! (Yes, there were still outhouses in our neighborhood back in the 60's - early 70's.) 5)-Make a dummy and place it on the side of the road, to look like somebody got hit by a car. Ketchup or red paint is optional. These, and many other "pranks" were the hallmarks of being a kid at Halloween when I was a kid. Seems like nobody leaves their houses anymore - they're too busy plating video games.
Wow! We never did any of that. We just did trick or treating and afterwards had fireworks.
