High school movies are a core part of any young person's adolescence, even if the actors on screen aren't actually as young as the character's they're playing. In this quiz, we've shared some of our favorite high school movies, and we're making you guess how old these actors were by the time the film was released!

Obviously, they'd be a bit younger during filming than they were at the time of the film's premiere, so keep that in mind!

  1. In the movie Pretty In Pink (1986), Molly Ringwald plays a senior in high school. How old was she at the time of the film's release?
  2. In the film Grease (1978), John Travolta plays a senior in high school. How old was the actor at the time of the film's release?
  3. In the film Blackboard Jungle (1955), Vic Morrow plays a high school student. How old was he at the time of the film's release?
  4. In Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), Judge Reinhold plays a high school senior. How old was he actually by the time the film was released?
  5. In the movie Risky Business (1983), we can assume that Tom Cruise is a high school senior, because [spoiler] he's accepted to Princeton University. How old was Tom Cruise at the time of the film's release?
  6. In Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979), P.J Soles plays a high schooler. How old was she at the time of the film's release?

7/10. I never liked rock and roll high school. And wasn’t a big fan of dazed and confused. I really thought Ronny Howard was older in America Graffiti.

When “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” came out, Keanu Reeves was 25. Of course, his character could have been held back a grade or two.

Missed four and six. I knew Ron Howard was born in '54 and Jeff Bridges in '49, but guessed the rest.

6/10 and guessed. My favorite was Dirty Dancing where Swayze was 35 and Grey was 30, I believe. And in the movie 'The Blob' Steve McQueen had to be the oldest looking teenager in cinematic history.
