Another 100% Ted Baxter was funny.
Many folks here from outside the LA area might not be aware that Ted was partially based on Jerry Dunphy, who was the local anchor in that market. CBS station from 1960-75, which means he was the lead-in to Cronkite on the network news.
I had thought of Ted Baxter.....but who could ever forget the Thanksgiving report from Les Nessman with turkeys falling from the sky and crashing to Earth because Mr. Carlson and Herb threw them out of the helicopter. Les kept his cool and kept reporting the story.
