Was this a top movie in 1960, 1970 or 1980?

Remember 'The Alamo'?

Remember when well-written comedies or simple love stories could be blockbusters? No special effects needed — just great scripts.

These top-grossing movies of 1960, 1970 and 1980 contain no CGI, no leather-clad superheroes. Okay, one of them had an ape.

Let's see if you can place these classic films into the correct year — and decade!

  1. Airport
  2. Airplane!
  3. Patton
  4. Ocean's 11
  5. The Apartment
  6. The Blue Lagoon
  7. Psycho
  8. Stir Crazy
  9. Love Story
  10. Tora! Tora! Tora!
  11. 9 to 5
  12. The Alamo
  13. The Owl and the Pussycat
  14. BUtterfield 8
  15. Any Which Way You Can

“The Richard Pryor” movie? Uh, I’m sorry but Gene Wilder has just as big a part in that movie as he does. (Plus Gene Wilder is name has top billing, and he sings the song in the opening credits)

No trivia about The Alamo? Here's some items. It was nominated for 7 Oscars including Best Picture, and it also made more money than the other four Best Picture nominees combined.

Metv is an excellent tv channel to watch on a daily basis. I'm 64 and this channel brings back lots of memories. I especially enjoy andy Griffith and happy days. Keep up the good work.

Aced it, 15/15. I thought I would miss "Tora Tora tora" I seem to remember that from 1968 or 1969. "The Owl and the Pussycat" almost threw me off, too.

11/15. Should’ve done better! MeTV, Gene Wilder should be mentioned with Richard Pryor in Stir Crazy. They were great together!
