It's not every day that one achieves that ever-elusive status of "teen idol." It's a title that many dream of, but few achieve. However, if you were in a show like Happy Days, you were pretty much guaranteed to be the envy of every teenager in town.

Of course, by the time Anson Williams became a teen idol when he was cast as Potsie Weber in Happy Days, he had long left adolescence behind. During an interview with the Journal Herald, a 28-year-old Williams acknowledged that it was a privilege to be considered a teen idol, though he was hopeful that his audience was a bit broader than that.

"It feels good," said Williams. "Hopefully it's not just a teenage idol, hopefully, there's a few mothers in there."

Of course, any fans are better than no fans at all, as Williams knew all too well.

"Thank God I'm being rushed," said Williams. "I've been in the business 10 years now and six of them I was not rushed. Nobody wanted anything. So, now I'm very appreciative."

While being recognized as a star in public can be overwhelming at times, Williams took it in stride.

"Every day it's not bad," said the actor. "I kind of just follow the crowd anyway...lay back and dress like everyone else...if you want to be recognized you will, if you don't you won't."

However, Williams was aware his good fortune wasn't common, and while he was adored by strangers everywhere, he recognized the importance of keeping loved ones close. The actor revealed that his father also acted as his manager.

"There's a lot you have to handle besides performing," said Williams. "I've been out of the house 11 years, but two years ago I made him my manager because I needed someone that was artistic to make some good wise decisions that I could trust."
