Tour this incredible recreation of the original 'Star Trek' Enterprise
A fan spent two decades building these amazing sets. You can tour them later this month.
For half a century, we have dreamed of setting foot on the bridge of the Enterprise. Starting July 30, for about $20, you can do just that.
Star Trek superfan James Cawley began building his replicas of the original sets in 1997, according to the press release, using blueprints from the original series he had received from series costume designer William Ware Theiss. For two decades, Cawley crafted these painstakingly detailed sets in Ticonderoga, New York. The attention to detail is astounding, down to the computers, buttons and lights.
Visitors can sit in the captain's chair, walk the corridors, explore the sickbay, check out Mr. Scott's engine room, man the controls in the transporter room and debate "Spock's Brain" in the briefing room. Check out the official site, startrektour.com, for gorgeous photos of all the spaces.
