Can you complete the names of these No. 1 bands with the correct color?

It's a true "Rainbow Connection" of pop trivia!

Back in the day, the pop charts were a rainbow of musical styles — disco, rock, country, balladry, blues, funk, synth-pop, etc.

You could find a rainbow of colors in the musical acts themselves. The following 12 chart-toppers all had a color in their name.

Can you complete the names of these bands that went No. 1 on the Billboard charts in the '60s, '70s and '80s? Color them in!

  1. ______ Floyd built up it reputation with its chart-topping album 'The Wall' in 1980.
  2. The Moody ______s had No. 1 albums in both 1972 and 1981.
  3. Al _______ sang "Let's Stay Together" and stayed at No. 1 for 16 weeks!
  4. ______snake slithered up to No. 1 in 1987 with "Here I Go Again."
  5. Lorne ______e had a No. 1 hit with "Ringo."
  6. Simply ______ soared to No. 1 in 1986 with "Holding Back the Years."
  7. Joan Jett & The ______hearts declared "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" and went all the way to No. 1 in 1982.
  8. Average _______ Band topped the charts in 1974 with "Pick up the Pieces."
  9. Shocking ______ electrified the pop charts in 1969 with its No. 1 song "Venus."
  10. The _______s stood on the podium with their No. 1 hit "Boogie Fever" in 1976.
  11. ______ Swede had America "Hooked on a Feeling" in 1974.

Indy Girl,
I got a good laugh out of what you wrote, so taking a page from you, I'm "in the pink!"

11 of 12, even though Pink Floyd looked more like fuschia Floyd. I was almost ready to complain that Venus was Banana Rama. Luckily, I looked it up before making a fool of myself.

The Blues Magoos. Unincluded again! I ow-rage!! Oh..the humanity!
I have a copy of Blood Sweat and Tears doing a live version of "smiling phases". At the end of the song the recording goes on for a while, the venue announcer is telling people not to walk down the middle of the aisle because they may knock out a power cord and the recording would be lost. He then goes on to announce upcoming artists coming to the venue, and lo and behold "The Blues Magoos" are slated to appear next thursday.

12/12. And I'm color-blind. A couple of the "green" names I came close to checking off the "brown" square.
