Can you name the cities these defunct sports teams came from?

Call your shots!

 The Everett Collection

Some of these teams folded. Others moved to a different city, with a new name. But, where does the fandom go? Are the cheers still there, hanging over the former sight of each field, each stadium?

We're testing your memory today. We'll name a team that no longer exists. You tell us what city they're from. Simple as.

Good luck, and be sure to share your score in the comments section below!

  1. Whalers
  2. Senators
  3. Oilers
  4. Thrashers
  5. Expos
  6. Bullets
  7. Barons
  8. Scouts
  9. Nordiques
  10. Pilots

You got 10 out of 10

10 out of 10. Done in about twenty seconds. Next sports quiz please. Hard to believe that Kansas City had NHL hockey once upon a time. Teams like the Scouts, Barons and Golden Seals merged with other teams or moved to other cities. The Scouts became the Colorado Rockies and then moved to New Jersey and became the Devils. Go USA! We'll show our 51st state who has the best team!

Wasn't it the washington bullets
The franchise was originally in Baltimore and moved to D.C. Then they changed their name to the Wizards about twenty or so years ago because Bullets and thinking there's a gun attached to the nickname
apparently offended many. Why who knows? Bullets was a much better nickname. Political correctness really sucks.

You got 10 out of 10 - Way to go, sports fan! I knew I would do well as I am a big sports fan and the history of sports as well. Though I'll admit that I had to think twice about #6 but went with the alliteration of Baltimore Bullets. And with hockey being my favorite sport, I'm glad they included 5 now defunct hockey teams (#s 1,4,7,8,9). That certainly made the quiz much easier...at lesast for me. :)
