Did these shows have the same main cast in both the first and last seasons?

Some went through drastic changes while others stayed exactly the same!

It's incredibly difficult to get a show on TV let alone one that becomes successful. It's even harder to keep that successful show consistent from the first season to the last season. Cast changes are common on long-running shows but actor replacements can happen after just one season — or even just a few episodes!

Here are some classic television shows from the 1950s to the '80s. A few stayed virtually the same all the way through while some went through different iterations. Can you guess which series had the same cast for both the first and last seasons?

  1. Were all four Cleaver family members in both the first and last seasons of Leave it to Beaver?

  2. Were all 11 Waltons in both the first and last seasons?

  3. Were all these first-season cast members there for Gunsmoke's last season?
  4. Were these four Beverly Hillbillies in both the first and last seasons of the show?
  5. Were the four main friends on Happy Days all still part of the regular cast for the last season?

  6. Were all nine Brady Bunch actors there from season one to season five?

  7. Here's the first season cast of Mama's Family. Were they all there for the last season?

  8. Were all these actors on My Three Sons in the last season?

  9. Were these three core cast members on The Rifleman in both the first and last seasons?
  10. Were these first-season Hogan's Heroes actors all in the last season?

  11. Was each member of the Petrie family in both the first and last seasons of The Dick Van Dyke Show?

  12. Were all seven castaways on Gilligan's Island in both the first and last seasons?
  13. There were six members of the Barkley family in the first season of The Big Valley. Were they all in the last season?

Technically, I believe that Robert Reed was not in the final episode of the Brady Bunch. Of course, with my memory, I may be mistaken.
I don't think one episode counts.

You got 13 out of 13
Did you get them all right or did you have to let a few answers go before the end?

Rue McClanahan and Betty White as Mama's sister and daughter respectively. If we go back to the very first Mama showings Harvey Korman played Harper SIL, Alan Alda played a Harper son, as did Roddy McDowell.

Yes, the late great Roddy McDowall played brother Phillip in the inaugural skits on "The Carol Burnett Show". While Roddy was typically delightful, I always found it amusing to have the brother/son in this decidedly Southern family to inexplicably have a proper British accent!

11/13 Missed The Rifleman.....thought that Micah wasn't in the 1st season. I never watched any of the final season of Happy Days.........so who was missin'?........wasn't Arthur 'cos he jumped the shark.

Richie left for sure I think ralph also but not sure. Arnold the restaurant owner also left after 2-3 seasons replaced by al
Moverfan Tommy 44 months ago
Yeah, Ralph was gone--he came home from the army and his dad said he'd buy him a car (I think) if he went back to school and became an optometrist. Al married Chachi's mom and they all moved to Chicago (Joanie Loves Chachi), so Fonzie went looking for somebody to buy Al's half of Arnold's...and I'll be damned if it wasn't Arnold!
