I love any Powell & Pressburger film since I was a kid: A Matter of Life & Death, 49th Parallel, A Canterbury Tale, Life & Death of Colonel Blimp, I Know Where I’m Going, & The Red Shoes, for only a few. Glad to see some of these classics.
PBS/Masterpiece Theater’s first showing of the first Marlowe Murder Club expanded the Strangers on a Train idea to having 3 people execute 3 murders in the precise factions, but each committing the act for another part of the triangle—very sinister. Three murders in the same mode made the police believe it was a single killer, until 3 civilian women joined forces and solve the mystery. Excellent—better than Strangers on a Train. .

Okay. I see you have been busy and with good thoughts to boot. I might have one or two of the above you speak of. Though Marlowe Murder Club I do not think I've heard of it. I shall of course look it up and seek it since I know that you and the rest of the Movie Quizzers will love it.
Just a note since last night we lost AWL who thought she had came to the wrong place. I put up the Early Bird Vids for Quizzers early (somewhere between 2 and 5 P.M. for those who wish to come by and take in the entertainment portion before hand. At around 8:50P.M. I take it down and ready the MQ for the 9 P.M. (which also has the entertainment portion). She came by and no one was there, making comments and such as they normally do. By the time I was able to reply she had gone on her way until over an hour later she chimed in. Things happen but she understood.
I have the movie Marlowe with James Garner (not anything to do with your Marlowe Club film).
Have a great weekend.

I have found it on IMDb. Since it is a new running series I doubt I can locate it but I think most will have PBS station if they wish to watch.

Just noticed I have a 720P copy of The Red Shoes. Searching for I know Where I am Going. The others I believe I have
Marlowe Murder Club is a recent PBS Masterpiece Mystery 4 part series that concluded last weekend. I only mentioned it because it has definite similarities to Strangers on a Train.
3 old friends from college meet up and apparently discover they have someone they want dead. They each exchange murders & do everything the same at each so it appears it’s a serial killer. The London police are stumped. Then 3 women who had connections to the 3 victims team up to solve the crimes. It is EXCELLENT, and has a connection to Strangers on a Train.

I always heard my parents speak about how great & popular The Fugitive was—whenever on reruns, my siblings and I would watch it. Now I have the series. David Jansen was a wonderful actor.
I have almost all of Gregory Peck’s films. He’s fantastic as the aging Catholic priest in China in Keys of the Kingdom! I love The Big Country so much, I showed it to students when I taught Texas History. Burl Ives totally deserved his Oscar—I quote lines from that movie because there’s so many iconic ones, like “Well, isn’t this a frosty Friday,” and it’s sunny and hot but Burl Ives is commenting on the deed he just realized Peck now owns—The Big Muddy. The Guns of Navarrone follows Alistair MacLean’s novel fairly closely . The cast of Peck, David Niven, James Darren, Anthony Quinn, etc, are EXCELLENT within its daring, near to impossible, WWII scheme—another film with many great lines to quote. In my opinion, the original Omen is one of the scariest horror movies ever made; Omen II isn’t bad either, but one is extremely sinister…it kept me from choosing Damian as a name for either of my sons!!🤣 Yellow Sky & The Gunfighter are both unexpected western gems where Peck’s bad guy image is softened by his choices during the movie. Gentlemen’s Agreement is a terrific movie with a stellar cast—except I just can’t see Peck with Dorothy McGuire—no chemistry and she’s so bland. Yuck! Bad casting. Celeste Holm was a wonderful choice, but she should have been the girlfriend, not just the friend.
Have you ever seen Night People? Cold War thriller that is filled with curves throughout and is filmed in West Berlin. Pork Chop Hill? Based on the real story of one of the last battles during the Korean War while the peace talks drag on. Super fast, with some newcomers, like George Peppard—love him, Woody Strode, Robert Blake, & Harry Guardino. This film does an awesome job of portraying the idiocy of continued fighting & dying during the Korean War under ridiculous, untenable conditions. As many US soldiers died in Korea during the war’s 3 years, as were killed during the entire Vietnam War. Not enough is said nor taught about the Korean War as it should be. Peck is the example of a try to follow the rules officer, but while realizing the futility of his position without relief.

I have not seen Night People but it rang a bell maybe I had it or saw it someplace. I found that some place. Night People (1954) looks to be a decent copy (1G). I saved it to my favs and will DL it sometime this week week.
Woody Strode I have some movies with him in it. Spartacus, Once Upon A Time in The West (though does not last long since Harmonica (Charles Bronson does him in with the other two with only 3 horses since he only needs one), right, LOL, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Professionals and his own movie he started in with Jeffrey Hunter--(Sergeant Rutledge). I tend to find the best ones but some just fall though that movie rabbit hole. I will get them sooner or later (they don't know me very well do they!) famous cartoon character last words. Not sure if it's supposed to be NY or NJ kind of talk. Maybe South Jersey? Who knows I was LMAO during that movie My Cousin Vinny with Joe Pesci.
Also have Anthony Quinn and David Niven flicks. Also like movies when we get the Nazis in WWII. Inglourious Basterds (2009) and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) I have shown this last one but not the other yet. Just a few hours of fun entertainment. The sort of what if type of thing. Oh that's called Fictional movies. Yes the Omen and things with the Devil kind of wear on me (called scared 😈🙈) Most of the rest are okay except I did not do Clowns for decades. Last I watched until just recently was Killer Klowns From Outer Space. After that they became really wicked like IT. I am getting over those phobias as we speak. Most other Horror/Sci-Fi I am all in on.
Now you know the lunatic with the movies 🤪. Hang around you will probably enjoy. Your thoughts are most welcomed.

If you are in to War movies I have many. Bridge On The River Kawi, One with Robert Mitchem trying to remember the name. He is chasing a sub that is following his boat around and intends to sink it. They both have problems and it kind of ends peacefully. I have a lot of Sub Movies. The Hunt For Red October (everyone likes), Another with Denzel Washington , Gene Hackman--Crimson Tide. Many others in the 50-60's. Trying to remember that one with One American and one Japanese on that Island where they try to kill one another. Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison another good one. The best Sidney Poitier films. In the Heat of the Night, The Defiant Ones, Blackboard Jungle, Shoot To Kill (a sleeper of a movie) along with The Bedford Incident and more. Let's not forget To Sir, With Love (just showed that one a few weeks ago) Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. I believe I have all the Matt Helm 4 movies (Dean Martin) and of course Ocean's Eleven 1960 with the whole Rat Pack (they have all passed away, the males anyway). Also who knows what extra movie will show up Friday Night including the MQ one. I will dig deep in my coffers and a surprise is lurking 😏 "you will get a kick out of it". That is the clue I am giving.
7/10....good guessing, again
I always loved The Pink Panther cartoons & Peter Sellers movies growing up---"Does your dog bite?" 😆
