How well do you actually remember ''The Legend of Barney Fife''?

Don't call it a comeback.

Barney Fife will forever be remembered as Andy Taylor's deputy, but fans of The Andy Griffith Show know that Don Knotts actually left the show after the fifth season.

But in the sixth season, just like that, Barney was back! Across two episodes, "The Return of Barney Fife" and "The Legend of Barney Fife," we saw Barney return to Mayberry briefly. That's when he meets Andy's replacement deputy and encounters perhaps the scariest situation he's personally encountered in Mayberry: an escaped prisoner he's put away who's determined to get revenge on Barney Fife.

For this quiz, we're going back through just the second episode of Barney's big return to Mayberry, "The Legend of Barney Fife." Below, we'll take you back through the classic episode and test you on your memory of the living legend Barney Fife. Good luck!

11/12 I missed the last one. Jack Burns always drove me up the wall so, when he'd start his "funny" crap, I usually switched the TV to something. Loved his partner Avery, though.

10/12; not too bad - it has been awhile since I have seen this episode. I prefer the black and white episodes.

Missed #8, #9, and #12.
I was as shaky on this quiz, as Barney is with a bullet in his gun.
Stopped watching when they moved to color.

11/12 Missed #8. I distinctly remember an episode where Andy walks out of the backroom of the courthouse holding Barney’s uniform saying he kept it there. It must have been one of the episodes where Barney "resigns". Smart of MeTV to use this as one of the incorrect answers. Dadgummit!!
