I grew up watching Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments on tv. It took years for my parents to finally let me stay up to see the ending of TTC. I usually only made it to the parting of the Red Sea. Now I have both of these movies on DVD. 😁

I Confess. I didn't know that 😏-
Happy Easter to you as well 🐰
Oldies we've seen from the past. A slew of movies for Tuesday.

Sorry, Wrong Number 1948-Drama--Film-Noir--Mystery-
Anatole Litvak
Barbara Stanwyck---Burt Lancaster---Ann Richards-
Ed Begley---William Conrad---leif Erickson-
This movie creeps up on you slowly. The ending is so surreal--
While on the telephone, an invalid woman overhears what she thinks is a murder plot and attempts to prevent it. You will be gripping the chair at the apex of movie. My rating 7.5+.

The Snake Pit--(1948) Drama-Mystery
Anatole Litvak
Olivia de Havilland---Mark Stevens----Leo Genn---
Celeste Holm---Helen Craig---Leif Erickson--

One of my favorites from the past-
Inferno-1953- Crime---Drama---Romance
A tough, hard-driving business tycoon suffers a broken leg and is left to die in the desert by his scheming wife and her greedy lover.
Roy Ward Baker
Robert Ryan---Rhonda Fleming---William Lundigan---

I don't why anyone would mess with Robert Ryan--You've seen his other movies and he's a tough nut to crack no matter what role he is playing. It will at times look grim for him in this movie. Then you just move on over and watch him go. Movie was also made in 3D but since no one most likely no longer has a pair you get the regular version. Though copy is no 1080P this is the best on the net. Stay with it because it gets really good half way in.

Instead of giving the usual clues this MQ will be about the actors that played in various other movies. They may or not be the top stars in these but they were in our Movie just the same. Now piece these together and get the movie I have for you tonight. You might know right off the top of your head who played in these but do you have the right one to figure out tonight's Movie quiz? Below not in any special order are the movies. One of the actors are in tonight's Movie quiz. You may get it by just two or 3 known actors then try and trace it to the right movie. So your search will be needed unless you are The Brain from Planet Arous that knows all. If within 5 minutes it is not guessed I will give you a word that might help. All the actors you should know. I will say it is rated very high. More then likely going back to normal clues next week. Now aren't we having fun?
In Harms Way

Simon Pegg---Nick Frost---Martin Freeman---Billie Whitelaw---Bill Nighy-
A skilled London police officer, after irritating superiors with his embarrassing effectiveness, is transferred to a village where the easygoing officers object to his fervor for regulations, as a string of grisly murders strikes the town.

Houdini (1953)-1 hr 46 min--Biography--Drama--Music-
George Marshall

From his beginnings as a "wildman" carnival act to the internationally famous feat of escaping from a locked trunk in an ice-jammed river, the great Harry Houdini emerged as the world's most captivating magician and escape artist.

Just a little heads up for the quiz tonight. The clues will be in a different format (just for this quiz). I am going to give you 5 movies that the actors in the MQ are in. You have to figure out who they are and what the MQ is based on it. If you have a good memory you might get that before you can figure out who they are. Most times they will be the 2nd to 5th main character in the 5 other movies but they all played in this one you're trying to guess. After 5 minutes or so if no one has guessed it then I will give you a one or two word clue and go from there. For instance I might give one of those movies that John Wayne played in but the 2nd or 3rd actor on the cast list is the one we are looking for the piece of the puzzle to get the MQ right. Maybe you can line them up and figure out what movie by canvasing a few actors. I just think this movie I could not make the clues without giving it away more or less. Still though someone fast enough or knows more would most likely get it. The 5 movies below the top portion are the ones that one of the actors are in and in the movie quiz together. All 5 actors are well known. Maybe one is not but we just saw one of the movies that actor was in the last month. You probably know the stars in these other movies but you need the one with others. Then up pops the MQ for tonight. I am thinking it will last (I hope 4-10 minutes) If you get to the point of not getting it then just take a minute or two, relax and watch one of the videos I have put down for entertainment. It's fun. The movies are great and you will want to watch them. Also the Saturday movie will be-Catch Me If You Can (2002) Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks in it. A true story I might add.

Nancy Kelly---Patty McCormack---Gage Clarke---Jesse White-

Bonus Question:what acclaimed star of stage, screen & TV competed with McCormick for Best Supporting Actress? I believe Rhoda tormented her!
texasluva cperrynaples 14 months ago
Here is something I found when I gave the trivia page with the movie. The award was not given to children until after 1950. Patty McCormack's Oscar nomination marked one of the first times a child actress was nominated for an Oscar. Prior to the 1950's child and teenage stars like Mickey Rooney, Judy Garland, and Margaret O'Brien would receive an honorary juvenile Oscar for an outstanding performance of a young actor. McCormack's performance began the trend of including young actors in the nomination process for an acting performance. In 1962 Patty Duke, who interestingly took her first name due to Patty McCormack's success, would become the first young star to win an Oscar for The Miracle Worker (1962). I think the answer is
Eileen Heckart I think.
texasluva cperrynaples 14 months ago
Also I believe she was the mother of the child that Rhoda offed. She wanted the award the boy got instead of her so she I think hit him with shoes and knocked over and drowned. Then the ending which was the best of all, LOL.

Just checked the Streaming Schedule- Get Smart is on Streaming Schedule. Wonder if that's temporary as the other shows all seem to match episode wise. Interesting.
